Why Math?

• The Mathematical Science in the World is a sector that creates high employment unlike the classical sectors, and has a high concentration of research and development, and operates with research centres and universities.
•  Today Mathematical Science offers serious opportunities to solve the problems we face as mankind in many fields, especially in architecture, engineering, energy, industry, space and astronomy.
• Mathematical methods are used in the software and implementation of programs that increase and accelerate the functioning of many private and public sectors.
•  In addition, Mathematics also provides solutions to problems related to technological sustainability and contributes greatly to productivity gains through their use in different industries.
•  Our country has undergone a comprehensive economic transformation over the past three decades with the changes in the structure of production and export composition.
• 2023 and increase the share of high-tech products in production and exports in order to increase competition power in global markets.
•  Mathematics and its applications, which are rapidly spreading to many areas in response to increasing needs due to factors such as population growth, aging, inadequate resources, have created a growing economy.
• It is felt that the economic impact of Mathematical Science is increasingly felt in some developing countries, whether they are aware of this growth or are shaping roadmaps accordingly.
•  One of the findings highlighted in the workshop, which was held on 23 November 2012 by the Turkish Technological Development Foundation, is "to plan for the qualified human power that the field will need and to open programs in the universities." respectively.
•  Many universities and research institutes abroad have undergraduate and graduate level mathematics education.
•  In addition, it is thought that the opening of this section at Bartın University will provide many opportunities in terms of the region in which it is located because the localities of the universities which have Mathematics department in our country are close to each other and are located in the same region.
• The fact that Bartın is close to Ankara and Istanbul, our central cities that provide more opportunities in the field of Mathematics, will further increase the opportunities for students to find a job.
• In the 9th Five Year Development Plan of Turkey, in order to strengthen the research and development-based production capacity, Mathematics, by increasing the number of qualified and experienced personnel trained in this field, by realizing high quality researches and projects in line with the current requirements of our country, it will contribute to the increase of the level.
•  In addition, in the field of mathematics, international programs, projects and studies will be beneficial to Turkey in many ways, including the active involvement of Turkey through Mathematics departments located in universities, and in this context bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements and the execution of Mathematics projects and activities,
